Will I ever find a deal like this again?

Okay, a lady in my area, kinda, had a jersey/holstein heifer 15mths old, that she was selling for $750 ... an awesome deal!

So, I listed my Dexter heifer for sale, and now have someone very interested in her... but the other cow is sold. SO, do I hold on to my dexter? or sell her, bank the money and wait for another deal like that?

We'll keep mama cow, and breed her, but the calf is just 7 mths old, too young to breed, til next year, and she's horned and we'd prefer not.

but, Im thinking I may never find another jersey for that price, even though that's what I really want.

give me a vote....

keep dexter?
sell dexter?

will I find a bargain like that ever again?

If it were me, I would sell the Dexter heifer, since she isn't exactly what you want, and put the money in an interest bearing account some were (say a money market account, they don't make much but you can get to the money whenever you need it) and wait for the Jersey you are wanting. Meanwhile your money is making money.

You should be able to find a jerseyX cross heifer again for a good price. Ship the dexter off and wait with patience.

Just wait for me to ship one. I got rid of a Holstein/Jersey cross that was 4 months pregnant and only got 650 for her.

What's the latest? Did you get the calf sold? It might be the presbyterian in me but if you lose that one buyer it wasn't meant to be and I'm sure another, possibly better offer, will come along.

Keep us posted!
