Oh what pretty shaggy dogies! What does your DH do, spend his freetime batheing and combing them? How tall are they? Too cute.

Yes, they are Highlands. They are just so adorable. They came home with us on Saturday and I think are itching for some pasture. Getting them use to everything new in a stall for now. They hear Rosie and (Rosie's) Barbedol ("my" Red Polls) mooing outside and both of them turn their heads that direction, but can't see them, until I bring Rosie in for milking in the evening. They are incredibly tame. I'm not crazy about handling horned cows, but DH loves them, so we'll see. DH has Scottish/Irish heritage so that it is one reason he fell in love with Highlands. Our land is quite hilly and can get quite brushy, so we are hoping they do well here. Both the heifers recently turned 1 year. Not sure on the height right at the moment, but from the many we have seen they both appear to be the old-style and will be small and won't get like some of the American-ized ones that are quite large. They both fared well at the show before the sale. DS calls them Angora Cows! I imagine their coats will look quite mussy at times.
