Calling all Dexter people

What price would y'all sell an unregistered heiffer for? Thanks in advance.

That's a tough question to answer. Depends on location; can the heifer be registered; color, horned, polled, size?

I don't know anyone who raises un-registered Dexters, except people who raise them to cross with a Jersey or some such.

I've sold some Dexter crosses. Dexter/Jersey, Dexter Shorthorn, Dexter Highland, Dexter/Angus and more. These are unregisterable as Dexters. They usually sell for about $200 to $300 less than a registered Dexter.

To be honest, I don't go for inflated prices because something has a pedigree. Our goal is to raise quality animals for the small homestead at a price that most can afford. I bought our Dexters unregistered and the offspring is not registerable and they aren't crossed with anything. I was thinking about $200-$300 less than registered, but I'm not sure about bottle calves. What would you charge, hypothetically?
