I think this forum saved my calf!

I had my first ever Dexter calf born yesterday! I wasn't able to get a good look until today. I noticed she wasn't very "perky". So I got hold of her and noticed her tail was caked shut, so I loosed it all up and she pooped more and walked over to get some dinner from mama.
I remember reading somewhere about checking to make sure everything is coming out all right out the other end, so if I didn't know to check she would have been a very unhappy baby, if not ill.
And yes, the poop was "nacho" yellow!!
Ewwww.

Amazing the things you can learn on this forum. It's the kind of info, you may only need once, but it sure comes in handy when you do need it.

I trust this forum. Yes, it's possible to get wrong information here. But if you get enough answers, you know enough to go with the majority. And the majority is usually right.

And yes, I agree, the forums here are GREAT! I'm fairly new to them, and have learned so much already!
