Reading the livestock market ad

What is feeder cattle?

It says

Feeder cattle
Best strs 300-500#...93-110 is the 93-110 the starting prices??

What does SLA cows mean?

Under that is says shells? What is that?

These are prices the cattle are selling for.$.93-$1.10 is the price per pound paid for the 300#-500# feeder calves.SLA is slaughter cows and shell means they are so skinny that they are just shells.

Feeder calves generally starting weights around 200 pounds and up.

That's calves you're going to feed/graze out to butcher.

Around here they put feeder calves on the wheat, and after the wheat is harvested, they sell them to a feedlot.
