calf weaning timetable

I have bought a small jersey calf. I understand it is between 1 and 2 weeks old. It is still on all milk so I believe it is the younger. I need to know how long I should take to wean this calf. Hopefully you can give me some ideas of what you do. I have experience with goats but not real sure about the calf. Thanks in advance.

I guess I should tell you he drinks about a half a gallon at a time. And wants more.

Eight weeks minimun, if you have plenty of milk continue to feed as long as you can stand it....Make sure at eight weeks it's eating lots of grains and hays, common sense will tell you if he's ready. But eight weeks minimum, IMO
