Pregnant Discharge?

One of my cows should be having her calf on April 18th, but when I went out to feed them today, she had a string of mucus hanging from her. It was clear and fairly jelled up. When I took it off it kind of looked like a soft glue stick, if that makes any sense. Is it normal to start having discharge this soon or could my dates possibly be mixed up?

This is normal. The string will slowly occour on and off until she gets closer to calving. The strings will get progressively longer.

Or she could have been bred on the heat cycle before the one you thought? 21 days earlier would put her due March 29th if I'm not mistaken. Either way, the "stringing" as we call it, is normal.

Good luck with the calf!
