Showing heifer

We recently had a cow dehorned. We did a general dehorning and not a cosmetic dehorning. Would they deduct points for this ,if we showed her?

As long as you dehorn one the old fashioned way before the bases get too big, they usually heal up real good. My kids show dairy heifers occasionally and I always use the nippers on them and then sear them with a hot iron to coagulate bleeding when they are still pretty small. What state are you planning on showing in?

At that age, you'll want to have her surgically dehorned. It would just be too hard on her and she'd bleed pretty bad otherwise. ( I would imagine she's got pretty good sized horns by now) Most shows require dehorning before a heifer or cow comes in the ring.

I guess if I would've paid more attention to your original post, I'd have had my head on straight and not given advice not needed! Back to your question: if she heals up good, she shouldn't get any deductions.
