we're going to look at Dexters tomorrow

up close and personal!!! some folks very close to UpNorth (Heather) have a small herd and are selling them to move to town.

We're going up to look at them and talk about buying one that is VERY pregnant.. LOL

should be perfect timing to get her home and settled in before she calves

Don't tell the husband, but we move goats in his much-loved car when he isn't here!!

Darby, I am just too jealous! Sigh!! I can't wait until we can really start looking, but it's going to be the end of this month, maybe into April before we can do anything. Good luck, hope it works out for you!!

awww...they're so sweet!!! We got pictures, I'll post some in a few. Looks like we may end up with Millie, unless they just want too much for her. Shes the only one with horns, but we dont care that she has them, they're very pretty

I cant get to the pedigree charts on the web so I cant find out if Millie is registered or not... that makes a difference too, and Im wondering if they were pushing Millie in our direction because she's not registered or something? dont know....

Soon as the site is up again we'll check it out.

They didnt know too much more, looks like the son bought the cows and put them on his parents land, but they take care of them and build fences and such.. and they want him to sell them, but they couldnt get ahold of him to find out how much he wanted for her or any of them really.

I'll share a few pics in a bit... and hopefully the web thing will be up soon so I can find out more about her.

Hey Jennifer,

Until the online pedigree is up and running again, which shouldnt be long. You can call Chuck the register or email him. He can probably tell you if she has been registered. The registry is still working it is just the online software to access it, that is the problem.

Thanks
Dan

LOL@MilliVanilli=imitation milk!

Kidding aside, I hope you get her, she looks sweet. I have a friend with Dexters and they are just the most agreeable cows I've ever seen, even the bull.

I'll bet the calves wouldn't nurse Millie Vanilli, they'd just lip-sync.
