Ready to take the plunge...we think!

Well, after surfing the net for three or four years, and reading the wonderful information on this site for quite a while, I think we are finally ready to take the plunge, probably in late March or April. My daughter and I have decided on Dexter's. Is there anyone in Kentucky who raises them? Or at least not too far away from Western Kentucky? Thanks for any help you can give us!

Here's a list of Dexters for sale... and Im sure Dan will know where there are some in your area... he sent me a list of Dexter owners and there are 7 in KY on there... I can forward them to you, or you can check the following two links

http://www.geocities.com/dexter_cattle/forsale.html

http://www.dextercattle.org/Ads.htm

That second link has someone in...Owingsville, not sure how close to you that is...

Thanks so much for the information. I had actually already seen both of those links, and the only Kentucky that I saw was the one you mentioned in Owingsville. I've never heard of it, guess I'll have to Google it! Thanks again.

(they also have mini jerseys) Me? My favorite is the older styled standard jerseys.. You can meet Abby & Nonnie. Both of them love company. IF... Abby's Ai took (I'm having a bit of a doubt today.. she acts like she's thinking about having a light heat ) BUT if she is pregnant, we Ai'd her with red dexter semen....

Thank you so much, I will definitely be in touch. We are looking at purchasing somewhere around March or April though, would that be a problem?

Hi MisFitFarm,

Not sure if it is east or west Kentucky, but there is a new listing I am going to post this morning from Nicholasville, KY 40356.

Will Post that info momentarily. You can also check out the www.DexterCattle4sale.net if you see this before the other post.

Thanks
Dan

Welcome to the group. You will enjoy your animals!
Go to the Dexter cattle web site:
http://www.dextercattle.org/
Click on "Online Pedigree'
Search on your state
It returned 160 animals
Contact some owners near you
Good luck on your search!

WOW! Thanks so much for all the information. I'm so excited, and its still going to be a couple of months before we do anything! I think we've made the right decision, based on everything we've read.

Hi Freeholdfarms,

While this is a great way to check out the animals and members, sometimes it can be hard, because that shows living and dead animals, and past members and such from 1905 on. The membership list, shows just current members and are usually but not always easier to get ahold of...lol...

If anyone wants a current membership list, I will be happy to email you one, just email me at GrandmasDexters@aol.com.

Thanks
Dan

P.S. Yarrow - Which Red Bull did you use?
