Some of My Best Cows

I classify this one as one of our best. She is 9 years old, has had 9 calves. Last year she went down on us in April, due to a set of twins, and we induced her. The calves weighed 68 and 85 lbs. She didn't clean right away. Then she raised the calf we left on her to almost 700 lbs. We sold the other in the spring (she brought in about $900 last year) and she is going to calve within the next couple weeks.......

And finally one of the top first calvers last year. Home Raised.

A pretty bunch of cows. Do the cows in the top two photos have some Shorthorn in them?

If this 9 year old cow had her first calf at 2 and calves again in 2 weeks that means she has sustained 11 pregs in 7 years??????? 365daysx7yrs= 2555 days 11x280 days of pregnancy pregs=3080 days. What am I missing here?

The first and 3rd cows are part Shorthorn. I am not sure how much.

Whoops!! She has only had 9 calves. 2 sets of twins. This will be her 10th calf this year(or maybe 10th and 11th). I added 2 calves onto her age, not to the # of pregnancies she had.

Okay, that explains it, I thought that's probably what had happened. I knew that the figures didn't look right. Thanks.

Thanks for pointing it out. I would never have noticed, and you are the only one that pointed it out.
