Just got a side of beef butchered.What a nice job! In Lycoming County, outside of Lairdsville(30 min. east of Williamsport).

New cementblock building & stainless steel tables. Very clean conditions & a BEE-UUU-TEE-FULL job butchering the meat.

With the bigger meat packing houses, you don't know if you're getting your meat or someone else's, I heard. And complaints are made that people are not getting their whole meat quota back. I got all of mine.

$0.15/lb hanging wt but you must do the actual freezer wrap packaging, for that price. I did it & was satisfied with that price.

Thanks for the info, I wish more people would post about butchers that they're happy (or dissatisfied) with. I'm up north of you by a couple hours and don't know exactly who we're going to use when we start butchering this summer. There are a few decent butchers nearby but I don't think any of them will vacuum seal like I want my meat done. Someone made a recommendation of a place up by Bath NY but I'm not sure who it is. Anyone in Allegheny, Steuben or Cattauragus Co. NY with good butcher recommendations?
