First Dexter Calves Born!

This has been a pretty exciting week for us. First on Sunday the very first heifer we bought gave birth to a little heifer, and then on Wednesday (in a snow storm) another cow unexpectedly gave birth to a little bull calf! I've waited until to do to share my exciting news because we were just able to go and get some pictures ... although I didn't like any of the bull calf, so we just got some pictures of the heifer who will be named RAD's Naomi. Here are a couple pictures. Check out my blog, The Beginning Farmer, for some more pictures and for some of the crazy details of the births. Let's just say it wasn't all daisies and roses!

Thanks guys. I'm pretty excited about this, but I do hope that the others we are expecting to calve will pick better weather Like sometime after this cold snap we are having right now!
