Butcher recomendation?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a good butcher in Fl. area.

We have one, but to butcher a cow/steer he wants that I skin, and quarter the calf before I drop him off to be processed. For me, that's most of the work, anyway, it's not that much more to just make little cuts of steak, plus I don't want to make my DH car dirty by transporting a partially butchered steer.

Anyway, I was looking for a butcher that you can just drop of the steer dead/alive, and pick up the meat later. Any tips?
Thanks,
Megan

Since I'm not in, Florida, I suggest you look for a meat processor in the phone book. Or ask local cattle producers

Drop by a few farms in your area. Call the closest livestock exchange or feed stores.

I heard recently that it is against Florida Law for you to home butcher meat.

We live down a ways from a couple meat auctions so I'll ask them.

"I heard recently that it is against Florida Law for you to home butcher meat."
I hope it's not illegal to butcher your own meat, I can see it being illegal to sell, but to butcher, hmmm. I'll ask the local butcher as it doesn't make sense with what he said last week.
Anyway, Thanks for your replys!
Megan

As a geographical reference, I'm in Osceola County.

I've used a company called "Hoof and Horn" in Plant City for hogs and I've seen steers there. For the hogs they do the killing and the butchering, and since the steers I saw were alive in pens, I can only assume they do the same for them.

I don't have their phone # handy right now, but that is the name.

Hope that helps,
