You can tell aproximately how far along a cow is by the numbers they send back to you. Numbers around .1 are newly bred and .8 or .9 would be close to calving. You need to wait 30 from breeding and 90 days from last calving. If you don't wait until 90 days, the left over proteins in the cows system from the last pregnancy can effect the results.
You can contact biotracking directly and they will send you a kit but all you need are needles and red topped vials that you can get from a vet.
Print out the mailing instructions and the sheet that you need to send along with your sample. Mail it priority mail and you have your results usually within 24 hours of them receiving your sample. It only costs $2.25. I have done it a couple times now and have sent them of on Monday and known by Friday whether my cows were bred or not.
