Is there such a thing as over medicating....

Yes, you can over medicate and you can kill all the bacteria in the digestive system and in turn kill the animal.

I wil never forget the first time I bought a bag of milk replacer. I asked the guy for the medicated version. My thinking was to prevent illness. He just looked at me and ask "Why, are they sick now?" Needless to say I have never feed medicated feed.

If I have an illness issue I treat the one critter, not the entire herd at each feeding.

With that being said, if you need to medicate an animal, hit him at full force. If it say to give X per 100lb of weight, do so, dont try to see if a little bit would get you buy.
