My Cow is a MOMMY!!!!!

I posted before asking if my cow was bred, well obviously she was, we knew it would be soon, but I just got a call from dh saying we have a furry black and white baby!
The mom is a hereford and she was in w/ a belted galloway.
I can't wait to go home and see the new little guy(?)!

We did nothing at all when our rental longhorn calved. She did a great job of licking/cleaning the umbilical cord every day - so we didn't even have to dip. Just enjoy. And take lots of photos. You would not BELIEVE how fast they grow.

He's belted too, good deal.. Use 7% iodine, it works better than the weak stuff.

See if you know anyone, you might find interest from someone wanting a belted bull..

He is half Hereford tho. Does that make a difference?

Could you post a picture of your bred Jersey cross heifer? Reason I ask is that I have a jersey heifer that was supposed to be open when I bought her who is sure looking PG to me, but I can't tell for sure. I thought looking at one that is a first timer that is definitely bred would help.

Someone looking for a beef bull, might not care. If he had dairy in him, it would be a different story. The only ones looking will be someone that doesn't care if its a cross.
