newbie question

Can a 4 month old calf eat COB? You know the type they bag for horse feed? I get cob for 6.00 per bag and the dairy ration for 15.00. It looks identical to me.... Just curious, I only have one calf so 15 bucks a bag is OK but if I had a bunch it would get spendy.

COB.....Corn, Oats, Barley?? Ought to be a fine mix for a calf. I feed all grains that I mix myself and never buy feed "mixes". My cows and goats do fine. Be sure to offer a free-choice minerals.

Thanks! Yup COB is Corn oats barley. In my area it's pretty cheap, but a buddy of mine in SD says it's cheaper to get the ration. Weird how different the areas are. Thank you for you input!
