Vaccination Quandary quandry, kwandree?
Spelling issues aside, I have a 6 year old Dexter heifer who will be preg checked on November 2, after an AI attempt on Sept. 17th...when I picked her up in August, her previos owner told me she was "up on her vaccinations". He never gave me a schedule, and as she was free (she had to go as she was continually escaping into the neighbor's organic farm and ravaging starts, corn, etc.) I didn't pursue the matter. IF she is settled, what should I do? Should I vaccinate her as if she's never been vaccinated before? Can I do so safely? IF she's not settled, do I spend the moola to have her dehorned, vaccinated, feet trimmed and another attempt at an AI? The first AI attempt came unexpectedly and faster than I anticipated, AND while I was waiting for her vaccination schedule to be sent by the guy. I don't want to pour a ton of money into her if she's not going to be able to produce a calf.
