awesome calf scour treatment

we had bought a calf from the sale barn, we usually have to treat them for scours cause there is something about that place, thing is there is a new product from our area it is called hydra feed it is three dollars a packet four packets does the trick even if they are down i have never seen a calf turn round so fast! after you give the fourth packet, two a day like a feeding of anything else one in the morning one at night, you can go to a normal feeding schedule, this is without any other additional antibiotics, probiotics anything at all the web site is www.hypred.fr or it also says it is made in France for calves just thought you might want to know.

Here's the description I found from A and L labs in Minneapolis

Provides a temporary milk substitute for dehydrated and stressed calves and piglets due to scours, weather, nutrition or digestive problems.
Rapidly and effectively rehydrates and revitalizes.
Unique effervescent mixing process is fast, spontaneous and complete - no hand mixing or stirring needed.
Hydrafeed

A & L Laboratories
Effervescent rehydrating solution provides a temporary milk substitute for dehydrated and stressed calves and piglets due to scours, weather, nutrition or digestive problems, to rapidly and effectively rehydrate and revitalize. Helps maintain normal physiological balance and optimum pH by offering a source of high natural energy (lactose, the natural sugar in milk, has twice as much energy as glucose), essential nutrients and electrolytes lost during dehydration. Unique effervescent process is fast, spontaneous and complete; mixes itself with CO2 foaming action leaving no residue in suspension after dilution so calf gets the complete formula. No mixing, no stirring, ever. Palatable, appealing vanilla aroma and neutral pH entice calves to drink; makes tube feeding unnecessary. Easy-to-use, sealed granule packet allows for precise dosage every time. Contains 62.5% lactose, 5% sodium, 0.8% potassium, 7.13% raw proteins, 2% raw cellulose, sodium bicarbonate, glycine and citric acid. Dosage: For each calf, mix 100 gm pkt with 2 qts warm water 2 times daily for 2-3 days; For each newly purchased calf, mix 100 gm pkt with 2 qts warm water as the first feeding; For each piglet, mix 50 gm with 2 qts warm water 2 times daily for 2-3 days. Contains no antibiotics. No withdrawal period. No milk or milk replacer should be fed during treatment. Not recommended for drenching.

6-5....100 gms X 16........................... $48.85

Not sure if you can use it on goats. I will ask around and let you know. Also I found it at my local feed mill (Johnstons Elevator).

I myself have treated 1 and lost none. A friend of mine had 5 that were down from scours and he treated them with this and lost none. Then after they treated with this they follow up with probios.
The guy that told us about it said that the local dairy farmers have started buying this by the pallet (at $1,100).
