"Fat old man" doesn't look like much, I'd ship him.

Actually the two legged girl in the house owns, or at least claims everything.

Count on cows to find the best shadetree to lay under. It almost looks like they lined up for the pic.

Nice looking girls

Hey There;

Nice looking girls; I'd like to have one of those myself.

I'm impressed by those halters; where did they come from? It is not possible around here to find a good leather cow halter, or a good cow halter, period.

What is sold around here is a nylon affair that skins their noses if left on for long.

Those were on the cows when I bought them. The halters and lead ropes were part of the price negotiation process.

When I need halters I take measurements and go to a local Amish harness shop and have them made.

I think TSC sells leather cow halters.

Nice scene. My Vision for America is a cow in every yard (or at least on every block). Don't know about you, but I get some funny looks when people drive by and see cows on the lawn.

Tsc

Tink;
What is TSC? Around here we have a couple of so-called farm supply stores, but they cater to people who raise pets. I hope you are not talking about Tractor Supply because here those people don't know which end of a cow gets fed.

PS: After looking at those babies again I just wish I had some kids to feed or some other excuse for keeping a cow. That baby on the left is just begging to be someone's pet milker. Fresh cream, butter, milk with some heft to it, cold buttermilk with flecks of butter in it over hot cornbread, ice cream with peaches--oh my what a nice addition to the family she would make.

I do get some strange looks when folks see the cows in the yard. But, it has been very, very, dry here this summer I was about out of grass. We have a large yard and it seemed silly to me to start feeding hay and also burn up my time and gas to mow the yard. I have a drag that I pull behind the mower or the Polaris to spread the fertilizer around the yard, so it's all good.

Ox ,she is someone's pet milker, mine. All three are my pet milkers. My only excuse for buying them this summer was................... I wanted some Jerseys, that's the only excuse I needed.

Some of the benefits are all of the good stuff you mentioned plus plenty of fresh milk for the dogs and cats and clabbered milk for the chickens and the 2 hogs. I'm not quite sure what I will do with it all after the hogs to off to freezer camp next month.

They have been wonderful addition's to our family. With all of the goodies you mentioned it sounds to me like you have about talked yourself into buying a Jersey, come on jump in the water's fine

Oh Ox, I agree that the average TSC employee is a typical big box clerk, but they DO sell leather cow halters. I'm betting you could also find them online from Lehmans.
