Where to look for....

Where can I look for a replacement jar for my old butter churn? On Google there are 5,700 places to look....and I've looked at quite a few of those places with no luck. I need a jar that is 5 1/4" across the opening and I don't know what the volume capacity is....since I've never had the jar. I inherited the churning top without the jar. and I just can't seem to find one. Any tips would sure be appreciated! Thanks!

Have you tried Ebay?

There is sooo much stuff for sale on there......if you find anything close, just email the seller and ask for specific information regarding opening size.

you might also check Mason or Kerr websites......not sure what types of jars they might offer.

The butter churns that I have bought I got on ebay, they also had a bunch of just the tops & some were just the jars. Might be able to find one there.

is it manual or electric?

i second the ebay

many people tho dont realize that they have a jar that is from the electric ones and probably toss them

Have you looked at Lehmans? Google them, but I think it's lehmans.com

They have just about everything a homesteader needs, it seems.

Good luck

Thanks all...it is a manual one and it seems larger than most out there. Lehmans and a few others I've tried have them for the smaller ones but not ones that measure 5 1/4" and on e-bay I'm a bit afraid to pay $20 for one and then have it come and not fit...form a catalog I could at least send it back if I needed to. It is not a Daisy...the most popular brand but I can't find a brand name on it. I'll keep looking. thanks!

check out antique stores to see if you can find a complete one, then when you see a used one like on ebay, you will recognise it better....

check out estate auctions as well, often find nice churns

you might actually find a whole unit cheaper or easier, then just sell the part you dont need and use the heirloom in its stead
