Ok, after posting pics on my other thread (about AI'ing). Does my girl look too little to breed?
It took us forver to find a beef heifer, young one. I was hoping that she was our future brood/milk cow. I realize that she is little, but hubby says if she's not able to get bred next year, she's burger. Which is what we planned, before we found a heifer.
Is a year too late to grow? Should she be pushed with feed?
I don't believe she's ever come into heat yet. Although lately, she has become more vocal, were as before, she hardly ever moo'ed. No riding yet...
A neighbor was going to sell us a pure Hereford bull, 12 months old. We planned on either shipping quickly, or castrating. When we went to see him, he was TINY, I mean teeny, tiny. Like up to my waist! She even had papers for him.. She bought him from the breeder & all his other cows looked normal.
This was last year, before we found our girl. She ended up taking him to the auction, he never did get any taller.
Sooooo- wait & see, or plan on supper????
