One need to catch her first. Thats what I was doing at the time. Note the bread (bait) in my hand.

It was tough at first but now she has come around.

The cow is 1/2 Holstein, 1/2 Milking Shorthorn.

The calf is out of a Brown Swiss bull.

Is that the same cross as mine North?

I'm thinking of breeding Dutch belted. Any thoughts on that?

Up North's cows are Holstien/Milking Shorthorn if these are the ones I remember. Its one of the prettiest crosses I have ever milked. I love the blue roan look in cattle. Course I love blue roan Nubians too!

These girls are Holstein/shorthorn as well.

Grrrr, I have pics of some of my Normandes but I lost my photobucket account that has them on it already. I'm a sucker for unique coloring on cows so that's one the reasons why I love Normandes so much. Lots of spots. Also, I had my very first red Normande heifer born yesterday!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited, I've only been trying to get one for the last 4 years. Wouldn't you know. I took pics of her and went to load them on my computer and my camera batteries are to dead!!

Ladycat, a dead giveaway for a Normande is the panda bear eyes. All of mine have obvious black or red rings around their eyes.

I got my camera all charged up. Here's a pic of my new Normande heifer and mamma. Mamma is a purebred Ayrshire. Calf isn't even dry yet in the pic.
