loading tips

I just spoke with my hubby we are supost to go get maggie monday from the way he is talking maggie hasnt been handled much any tips for a newbie on loading maggie?

If Maggie is a horse, you might try the equine forum. If she is a cow, hopefully there will be a good loading alley and a few swats on the backside should do the job.

If you don't have that...a loading chute...maybe there's an embankment you can back the truck or trailer into and walk her into it from there, like we do here.

Be sure you bring a halter if she's not haltered already...and a lead rope. Maybe a delectable treat for her to bribe her, if needed.

Presuming Maggie is a cow. Well a cow with a name usually is grain fed often and may have a tub that she eats from daily. Just add grain to the tub and toss it into the cattle trailer and most of the time they will eventually jump into the trailer for the food. At least that has been working for me and for some of the tame steers that I have hauled for other folks. Maggie is a friendly name and should be manageable enough to get her into your vehicle. The owner should have a plan in place if he hopes to sell his Maggie.

Thanks and yes shes my new jersey I went to check on her this evening I cant wait to get her home she hasnt had a woman mess with her at all she seems to be most interested in my husband and my son.
