What is this breed of cattle named?

I was at the sale barn Tuesday and they kept running calves through that were white with black feet, black ears and black noses. I asked DH what kind they were. He said he had heard but couldn't remember. Do any of you know?

They were very pretty calves and seemed fairly calm. Apparently they weren't a top priority for the buyers there as they didn't bring top dollar like the angus and charlois were.. I know I didn't spell that one correct. Can't ever remember how to spell it.

Probably South Park if black is like cat's picture. Chiania usually have black pigmented skin on ears and nose, but not black like the South Parks. Chias are a very large breed, maybe even larger than charlois and don't have a reputation of being a calm breed. Usually sell well as feeders tho.

White Parks seem like a nice heritage breed. I posted before about the psyco steer calf that we sent back. He was herefordXwhite park & just a crazy, agressive fella!

Love the way they look, tho. We were excited to bring him home, but sent him right back!

Yes, I believe they are the White Parks that I was seeing run through the sale barn.

Thankyou all for responding. I had never even heard of White Parks. I googled it and found there are also some called British Whites.

I still think the calves are really better looking than the prices they were bringing. They were at least 20 cents cheaper than the others and to me looked just as good if not better, but the buyers did not like them.

I am new here, been lurking around for a long time but finally got brave enough to post. We have a white galloway with black points on our farm who is mistaken for a White Park or a British White all the time. We have another one who is white with dun points and is very pretty.

Aren't white parks a fairly rare breed? Why would so many be run through a sale barn? It would seem like a rare breed would be easy to sell to individuals and would seem like if they are that common they should not be rare.

One of our longhorn calves was snow white with jet black nose, ears, tail and feet. The black looked like it was painted on.

I didn't know there were any breeds similar to that.

Up North--
Haven't lost one yet, hope our good luck continues. We'll see when there is 3 feet of snow. Our pigs are great. We started with 12. Sold 2 live, took 4 to butcher, and the last 6 go in just over a week. We actually got brave and pastured them, and it worked perfect. Thanks for inspiring us!!
