Today's Cattle Auction

Went to a local Cattle Auction Today. The following are some samples of cattle that sold:
18 Beef Brood Cows, 5-7 years old, gauranteed 6-7 months pregnant, predominantly black, sold for $870 each.
1 Holstien Heifer, 480 pounds, at 86 cents/pound
2 Crossbred beef heifers, 332 pounds each, sold for $1.06/pound.
1 Santa Gertrudis Steer, 450 pounds, $1.11/pound
7 Charlois Cross bulls(not castrated), average weight 584 pounds, $1.06/pound
4 Longhorn Heifers, average weight 479 pounds, sold for 52 cents/pound
Black Angus Slaughter bulls, 66 cents/pound.
Broken Mouth Slaughter Beef Cows, 52 to 56 cents/pound
Many groups of good healthy beef calves sold at $1.15 to $1.30 per pound

The Lunch Special of Roast Beef, Potatoes& Gravy, corn, a fresh green salad with Ranch Dressing and a roll sold for $5. Best Buy of the day
