Grooming Chute

Who sells them (reputable place), and what to get? Need to get one, tired of dancing around clipping the cows.

sullivan supply has them. They have regular iron square tubing and aluminum. We have one that is a pain in the neck because it doesn't fold. Just make sure you get one that folds up for easier travel. I don't know who else may have them.

I'm a real fan of the alunimum foldable from Sullivan Supply. It's light weight but pretty strong and very portable with wheels on the front for pushing it around.

make sure you have the stuff or know an aluminum welder. They do break easier. I had a heifer break the brackets off of one that is iron square tubing. No lie.....But they are nice for portability.

Jeff,

I assume this is for your heifers and Holstein cows you're showing. I have a tie stall barn, and I just tie them up short with a halter when clipping them.

I have an old Filson grooming chute, but it doesn't fold up. Pretty durable, mainly used it for working with beef steers my boys used to show.

Yes it is. I ended up ordering the steel grooming chute from sullivans. Aluminum is light, I did use one a little at the fair. However something that can handle bigger cows is ideal. Its going to be mainly used for the heifers, since they tend to dance around more than the cows.

Thanks!

Jeff

I'd use my simple AI chute that I made from 2x4's, that's just big enough to hold a cow.
