Looking for info on Belted Galloways

We are looking into adding a cow to our small farm and have seen a great looking breed along the NYS Thruway this past weekend. Have since found out they are the Belted Galloways, a rare breed. Does anyone out there own any of these?

We have a herd of around 20 in Indiana. But that doesn't help you much. LOL Go to the Beltie Website at www.beltie.org There is a list of breeders and info about the breed there.

Very close to Belted G's are the Dutch Belted. Actually I can't really tell tham apart. But we have some here in PA, with a couple of new ones due to arrive in the next week or so. They have a wonderful disposition, and after starting with them, I don't miss the Scottish Highland's we used to have.
