Sold our first calf

We had purchased 4 young bottle calves the end of March. One of them was the cutest red Holstein heifer. Everyone agrees that she's a cutey. We thought about keeping her to breed to our Dexter red bull when she's older. But, there had been some interest in her and we decided to sell her while we had a buyer with the cash.
He paid us $400 for her. After reviewing the local sale prices and private ads in the Farmer's Exchange, we felt this was a good deal. We more than doubled our money in 2 1/2 months. She weighs a bit over 300# and is very healthy.
That sounds like a good return for our efforts.

Just curious of what you think of this deal. We're still new to this and just struggling along.

Day old holstein heifers go for around $600 here. But like sammyd said, as long as you've made a profit.
