care to swap?

Last year I bought a nice looking calf that I was hoping to use as a milker.
Since we got her home though, she seems to have some type of beefer in her, possiblr Hereford as she seems to be polled.
There is also a hint of Holstein in there.
If someone in Central WI would like to expand their heifer base a bit I would be interested in swapping her for a steer that's ready to slaughter.
Other wise I will be putting her in the freezer, and I think that would be a waste.
This is her a few months ago.
The wife taped her out at just shy of 1100 pounds last month. She's short but bulky.
If I can find the camera I will post a more recent picture.

May I ask why you don't want to use her as a milker? Is it because of the beef in her?

I milk a Friesian/Hereford and a Belgian Blue/Jersey. Either one of them produce more milk than the family could hope to use in a day. I use an Angus bull over them with the result that there is the added bonus of a nice beef animal to sell when weaned.

Cheers,
Ronnie

She is a beautiful heifer.....

I have 5 White Faced herefords (4 heifers & 1 bull).... We are hoping they breed.... I was wondering what the milk quality would be.... My husband isn't sure they are good milkers..... But I'm willing to try it....

.
She looks like a Angus X Herford beef stock cross, butcher her and get milk stock cattle, if you want milk.

Hard to tell what she is from the photo, but definatly not straight black baldy (not enough white). I'd guess mayby a simmintal/angus cross except she seems short coupled to have much simmintal in her. Could there be a hint of Galloway in there?

The herd I bought her from had a little of everything in it. Holstein, Jesey, Milking Shorthorn, Lineback.........I figured Hereford cuz she was pretty red when she first arrived and it shows up when the sun hits her coat just right. And I didn't have to dehorn her.

I was going to milk her but I think she will be eating more than I figured on, and I have a sweet little Jersey/Holstein I bought at the same time that will give us more than enough milk now that some of the kids are planning on moving out within the year.

I would butcher her, but since I was going to milk her originally I got a little attatched to the big girl, more so than I do with the steers we have around. And I think it would be a waste for a nice heifer like her to go in the freezer and not in a herd somewhere. If I had a bit more land I would keep her, but that is up in the air at this time.
