4 more weeks until...

Buttercup is due June 3, this is her first calf and our first dairy cow. Up until now we have only had beef cattle.

Obviously she is well fed and cared for but she needs her feet trimmed. I would have expected her right side to protrude more if she is due in less than a few weeks.

I agree that she is a beautiful cow and clean too.

I also think that she should be bigger on the right side if she's due in four weeks. We don't have cows yet but my Dad raises beef cattle and his girls are all huge on the right before they calf.

I am not sure about the hoofs but her front right one seems long and her foot isn't on the ground properly. Not really stating that really more of a question, am I right? Learning everyday, here.

Blessings,
Debi

DS is a Farrier and will be in on Wed from the oil rig, I'll have him check her feet. We've only had beef cows and never had to trim feet (in fact I had never heard of trimming a cows feet until DS went to Farrier school).
Hopefully she is small because it is a small calf, I just had to pull a goat and I'm not sure I could handle a big calf!
