The calf I bought from Jerzeygurl

She lost the tip-ends of both ears, but I think she's beautiful anyhow. She certainly is "type-y" as the old dairyman used to say, and all dairy. That ratty old halter stays on her because we put her in the barn at night so dogs can't get to her. We're going to let her keep her horns.

Be carefull with the horns, they do know how to use them (not in a mean way, but play). Otherwise, nice looking animal, posty legs, straight back. Slight angle to the ribs, open ribbed too, she looks to have a deep body as she matures. Nice looking Jersey.

Yes, I know to stay clear of horns. Years ago, our first milk cow, Suzie, swung her head at flies while I was standing with my arm around her neck and gave me one heck of a black eye.

What a beautiful little girl! Is this one of Jerseygurl's mini Jerseys? One of our Dexters, DD, has horns. It helps even up for the size in relation to the shorthorn nurse cows and the beef cows. I do have to watch those horns though.

I don't know if she'll turn out "mini" or not. She'll certainly won't be very big.

Her grandma is below mini hieght requirements, though her mother is over.

Mother is longer legged than grandma, which makes her a lot easier to get a bucket under, tho they both wiegh about the same apx 650 ish. Mamma is giving about 4 gallons a day from what i can tell as I am milking 2 cows.

Her father is very fine boned compared to our last jersey bull. I have liked all of his calves.

Really pretty little girl! Has some of the same markings as my steer from last year that now weighs around 800#. Even tho' he's only half Jersey, he has the look of them, except for his rump...looks kinda like a blend with the Angus 1/4 of his mama.

I know this sounds like a typical mom or grandma, but Secret seems to be smarter than most cows.
