any OKIEs on the board?

I was wondering how many Oklahomans are on this forum? There's very few (if any) homesteaders in my area (especially milkers).

I'm not really homesteading and am living in Tennessee but I'm still and always will be an OIKE!From the northeastern part. Green Country! Hope to return some day. Homesteding still possible in the area we are from. Still a lot of remote areas.

UpNorth,
It's looking like it could go either way at this point. We've gotten some winter rains and about six inches of snow at this point. (which is three times what we got last year at this time.) By this time last year, we were already in an outdoor burn ban. The wind has been worse here this early spring than I can ever remember. I think if we get a few more inches of precip, we should get a first cutting of hay. If not, I'll be coming north to Kansas and Nebraska to find hay for my beefers.

I'm an Okie! Not a homesteader, but I'm hoping to get into milking dairy goats in the near future.

I was born and raised in SE Okla. Still have a lot of relatives living there. I may buy a place there in a few years for retirement. I lived in a small town called Finley and have relatives there and in Snow.

I'm in the SE corner and have a small homestead. I sold the cattle and horses a few years ago and now have goats, rabbits and a variety of poultry. I don't come to this forum to often since I sold off the cattle.
