Talking My Valentine's day present from my husband

He bought me the book "Keeping A Family Cow" by Joann S. Grohman. Isn't he so romantic! He said maybe by next Valentine's Day we might have our own jersey! I knew you guys would understand my excitement!

I sure do Holly. One of my best Christmas presents was a wheelbarrow and in the January he bought me gumboots for my birthday. Not romantic at all but just what I wanted and very practical. Didn't have a lot of money in those days and they meant more than a bunch of red roses. I wore the gumboots out long since but still have the wheelbarrow

Cheers,
Ronnie

We country girls don't need roses!!! I also love the practical gifts vs something that is going to be dead in a week. I loved the wheelbarrel idea, next time it needs painting, paint it bright RED!! I always ask for flowering trees and perennials for my May birthday. I get to enjoy those presents for many years to come.

I should buy Herself a copy of that book, I'm sure she would enjoy it too.

This year I bought Herself a big box of chocolates, I thought of getting her a diamond something or another, but then it occurred to me the effects of the chocolate would be around as long as the sparkle of the diamond. Now she will be able to remember my Valentines Day gift to her every time she steps on the bathroom scales.

Awwwwww! How sweet!!! LOL My honey bought me the Storey's Guide to Raising Pigs and the Chicken Health Handbook for Christmas. Its so nice when they forego the regular useless romantic stuff and get something you really want and will use. I am very excited for you about the Jersey! I am starting my Jersey search and it is a really exciting time!

What a GREAT gift! Last year on Valentine's Day I got an incubator to hatch chicks and this year I asked for a new squeeze chute.

Nothing says I love you like livestock equipment. lol

Think my hubby needs to read this tread. I much rather have the books than stuff to fill up the house.

Best birthday present I ever got was a 2 year old Simmental about to calf - and she did within a month - a beautiful heifer. Everyone I work with thought I was crazy -couldn't understand why, but she brought me more joy for more years than any other present he's ever given me.
