Belted Galloway

I have a chance to pick up Belted Galloway cows. I intend to run a small herd of them (2-3 cows with yearly calving). My questions is - in NorthCentral Wisconsin - how much should I be paying for a heifer calf, bull calf, heifers, and 3-4 yo cows of this breed?

I was thinking:

600 lb heifer, $470
200 lb calf, $300
1200 lb steer, $700

sound about right?

Those look to be good prices for Belties. We have a herd of around 20 Beltie cows, 2 bulls and calves. They are all so sweet. For a steer that big we usually charge whatever market price is per pound. Not sure what we paid for our when we got them, because we bought 20 cows. Have fun with them.

If so, plan to pay more.......if not registered, I would say whatever the market might be in your area, although Belteds going through a sale ring will not bring market value pricing.
