My Dexter

My Dexter cow seems happy today, maybe it's because of the perfect day we are having.

My poor young goat however, seems to be in season and is harrassed by my rams.... I have goat-roped her to the backyard for the afternoon.

Must be something in the air Slev! There is twenty head of horses across the road..and bright and early this morning...it was CRISP and beautiful..they were all snorting, running and having a heck of a time.

My lone horse on this side watched...and then all of a sudden she took off bucking and kicking and the five Dexters in with her followed her doing the same thing, It was comical to say the least.

Sounds like your dexters get along with the rest of the animals well! That's great. It must have made your day.

on my place, I only have the 1 dexter right now, but she gets along well with our sheep and guard dogs very well. Not so well with our horse, (sometimes she can be a pain, but she is looking after our flock which is good)

The cow seems to have made a connection to our young dairy goat, it's like we have a small dairy section/clan thing going on. ....kinda funny really.

But yes, these past few days all of the livestock seems happy now that there are cooler temps in the evenings at least.

I have 8 Dexters and 12 goats. They co-exist very well. Of course, the cattle are boss when it comes to getting a treat. The goats stand behind or try to sneak a treat from the side.
