Can someone tell me.....

the best way to keep a calf/cow pair over the winter without having them tear up the ground they are on? Also, what would be a fair price for a calf/cow pair (angus) with the cow being bred back already? This cow was a bottle baby and is 3 years old and could not get any friendlier. She has a little bull calf at her side now. Thanks!

Avoiding feeding in the same place each day and rotating the animals to different parts of the pasture works for me. The cow/calf pair is worth $850 to $1050 IMO.

Where are you located?

In NW Missouri, a young angus cow, with calf at side and bred back Angus would probably bring $1200 to 1,300 if she is solid, based upon recent sale barn history.
