Ellie Moo got rode!!

Sorry I don't have any new pics. I did waste a lot of time trying to load a video of clip of her, just to have it not work. But we had a visitor the other day that had a 2 1/2 year old little boy. He wanted to ride the horses until he saw them. But he did get to have a ride on a goat and on Ellie. I thought Ellie did pretty good. Since it was a spur of the moment thing, I didn't have her halter near. I just set the kid on. Never did let go. She did fine but with the cooler temps could have started kicking up her heals at any second. Some times the way her and Lizzy go at it, one would think that they should have cow ridding, not bull ridding!!!! I know it doesn't sound as good as bull ridding. But who knows, maybe we will start a new thing!!!

Some of my fondest memories were of riding my grandfather's dairy cows down the road from the pasture to the barn at milking time. Always tell folks I'm a real cowgirl I think you'll have to get Ellie Moo trained up to be a saddle cow!

I'm glad to hear that Ellie Moo and Lizzie are doing well! How's Ellie Moo doing learning her surroundings?

Cow riding is cool. I look forward to seeing another round of Ellie Moo and Lizzie photos soon.

Thanks for updating us!

I can't wait to share this with the class tomorrow. I still have some kids form last year and a whole bunch of new ones that are sure to become bonafide "Ellie Moo Fan Club" members.

This is the newest pic I have. My hubby thought I had lost it when I did this. I made one for lizzy too. I haven't got them moved to their new pen yet. We are still working on drainage. Just have to many things going and not getting anything done.

I think she is bucking stock!!!!!!! The 2 1/2 yr old came back. This time I had a halter, camera and dad to help. Ellie was not going for it. Couldn't even get her to hold still long enough for a pic. I'm not sure being a riding cow is in her future!!!
The kid looked at Lizzy and said "I want to ride that one". Dad said, "you can't ride her she can't see"!. This was the first time dad had been around the calves. I didn't even try Lizzy, even though she was a bottle calf, she is not as freindly as Ellie. She is halter broke, but barely comes to me unless I have grain.

Is Ellie's mask made out of fly screening fabric?

The fleece edging looks really nice. All she needs is a little bow up on the center of her forehead.

The masks where horse fly masks, that the horses destroyed. So I took them apart and remade them to fit calves. Lizzy's turned out a little better, but there is still room for improvement. I have a couple more that I can use, but I am hoping to have less flies next year!!!!!!!!!!!
