Aug. aggie fair ox pull - pic heavy
I got these developed yesterday thought you guys might like them.
they are from Aug. 6th at out town aggie fair.
they made it to 4 tons before they really started to pin

Nice pictures, thanks. Where was the pull? Is there an association for oxen pullers, we'd like to go to one sometime?

was a local Northwestern mass. aggie fair, I believe they do them regularly around new england, but I am not sure, that was the first I have ever been too, they also had horse/pony teams but that roll of film still has yet to be developed.
all the people with oxen were not local except one who was from a neighboring town, I believe most were from NY.

well i know it is a little old but i thought i put my 2 cents in most of the pelop in the pics are from MA the last team is from NY the first team weight about 3600 lbs or a little bit more the other teams are all 4000 or more. there is the new england oxen teamsters and mass oxen teamster. if you would like any more info on oxen you can just email me at sunsetviewoxen@yahoo.com i know all of these teamster in these pics and know what they have for oxen now and some form back then

What kind of cattle are those? They are huge!!

I'm going to guess Brown Swiss on the second team, Charolais on the last. Not sure on the red team, and I can't really get a good look at the black team.

I am familiar with all those breeds, these just look so tall. Like a draft horse or something! That is really something. Seen horse pulls, never ox pulls. LOL!

A steer will continue to grow for years, most folks just don't realize it because they are slaughtered young.
