Got Beef!!! - Cattle

This thread is for new folks who are interested in different breeds of cattle and their possible growth rates. Pictured is a 13-month-old, bottle fed Holstein steer. I just weight taped him at 1250 pounds. By the way he's the one on the right, the Jersey steers just give the photo perspective. This will be his last photo session for he has an appointment with a slaughterhouse this Friday. tyusclan, just trying to keep up with ya.....got Beef,,,,Tennessee John

James Dilley, hard to tell if you were kidding or not. The Jersey's for anyone who cares are 5 months old and weigh approx. 320 pounds. As you can see quite a difference in growth rates....Tyusclan, bring side dishes is all I ask, use exit 300 off I-40 Monterey, Tennessee....yummy

Yes sure do have some beef on the way.
If you look real close at the cow on the left you can see the state vaccination tag in her right ear showing she is a heifer that was suppose to be a milk cow. She will not breed so she is set to go to freezer camp.

The calf on the right is a weaned AI heifer. Her mom is already on the milk line.
