I am looking for a head stanchen for my cattle is their a place that sells them?
is there plans to make one my self?

You can find plans for them on the Keeping a Family Cow discussion boards. and in that book, there is a picture of a wooden stanchion.

I did not build this whole thing but I did build the head gate section and it works very well. Let me know if you have any questions. /RA

Don't know if this helps, but here's my stanchion in our two-car garage. The rails come off pretty easily for storage when not in use. The one on the right comes off to let her in each milking, of course. Those are 2x4x8' boards, and it's not really long enough for her, but we make do. There is a floor in the box between the headgate and wall where her grain is poured each time. It's adapted from the one described and pictured in Keeping a Family Cow
