Bull maturity?

At what age will a bull calf be mature enough to service the cows? The cows are Limousin, he is a Limousin/Angus. He's 12 mos now and will be replacing our current bull.

Thanks for your help.

How many cows are you talking about? At 12 months he should be able to service 10 to 12 cows without any problem.

Assuming normal growth and in good health, he should be ready to fullfill his prime directive immediately.

That's good news. He doesn't have many - only 10. Hate to see our big bull go. He's been a sweetie. Hope Duke is as good as his daddy.

Thanks for the help.

Sapphire do monitor his condition. If he is breeding in this heat he may start to get skinny- DO NOT allow this to happen or he may become innefective.
Feed him supplemental treats daily where other cows can't get them if neccessary............cheers
