Pasture Question?

When people ask questions about pasture development and such, many people refer to adding "legumes"......what are Legumes?

Any plant that fixes nitrogen in the soil. These plants are typically high in protein and are really great feed. Some legumes would be Alfalfa, any clover, or beans.

I kept thinking of beans being legumes, but could not picture putting them in pasture.......but figured down the line of clovers/alfalfas!
