Age to wean????

Some of you know Ellie Moo's story. Some might not. She is just now 3 months. Besides being blind the only other problem she still has is her heart murmur. I have heard to wean from 3 to 6 months. I am running low on milk. So should I wean her now, or buy another bag and wean her later? The vet said she is a little small for her age. Would she benifit if I continue to bottle feed. She is eating grain and hay. And soon should be able to turn her out on good pasture.
Any thoughts on this PLEASE!!! I just want to make sure I give here the best chance!!!

I think I would go ahead and wean. Weaning will reduce the work load on you also. Since she is eating fine just give her some better quality feed to offset the milk withdrawal.

I would wean, observe to make sure she is dinking and eating enough, feed high quality hay. I would not turn her out on pasture until she attains a body weight of 400 lbs.
