I say goodbye to Corabelle tomorrow

The title of the thread pretty much says it all. I'm so grateful that Opal and her are going to such a great home with so much more room. I am also so glad that I had such a great cow for my first experience with cattle. Both her and her daughter have the sweetest dispositions. They have made it so easy to own and love them as pets.

Keep me in your prayers as this is a pretty heartbreaking scenario for me to be walking. I sure hope if God brings another cow into my life that I can have the same special friendship with her that I've been blessed to have with Corabelle and her two gals.

Oh Christina I'm so sorry . I don't know what the situation is that has brought this decision but I'm sure the good home she is going to helps relieve some of the pain. I am going through a similar time. Have had to sell my small herd of beef cows to pay for unexpected medical expenses. Though I have received offers on my Jersey, I cannot part with her however so I think I can feel the pain of your separation from Corabelle. Prayers and strength your way.

That is some sad news! I'm sure there will be a big hole in your day, and in your heart for quite a while.

Thank you again, ever so much, for your offer to help Emily.

Well, she's on her way to her new house. I know it's the right decision and I thank God again for a good family for her. Loading her up was traumatic, but not for the goodbye part. I've never had problems loading her up in a trailer, but I figured I'd put her baby in first then have every treat in the world on hand to entice her into the trailer. Well, she saw her baby in the trailer and reacted by bolting away. I kept my hand on her lead the whole time. We decided to let her go back into the yard. She was definitely freaked about her baby in the trailer. We decided to back the trailer up to the gate and I prayed she would just lift her legs and get in the trailer. When she saw she wasn't going to get around the trailer, she did just that.

I hope the stress of this evening and the stress of going to the new home melt away quickly.

Thanks for knowing how I feel.

Normally I'm a big joker on here most of the time, but I do remember posting about your cow. I think if I had to sell my Dexter, I'd feel the same way as you. I think I remember, you were looking into maybe a Dexter or cross? if that's the case, I'm sure you will enjoy her as much as your old cow.
