Specific breed for cheese?

Someone asked me if I knew if white Vermont cheddar cheese could only be made from the milk of one certain breed of cow. I told her I had no idea but that I'd be happy to ask the experts. So experts........is this true? If so, what breed and why? Thanks!

No, of course not. The only difference between white cheddar and yellow cheddar is they don't put food coloring in it to make it that bizarre, livid orange, which some consumers seem to prefer. That's all....
