That's a toughie, depending on the market ... are there any dairy sales near you? If there is a livestock sale (auction) barn, check with them ... visit a sale, compare prices on springers.

She sounds like a sweetheart!

I suggest that to save you all the trouble you just give her to me!

Nah, I know that Dairy animals have been priced pretty steeply around here in MS. As soon as I get my fences fixed I hope to get a heifer to eventually milk. Hope I find one affordably priced!

Hehe...... a good dairy cow is nice I must admit. Honestly just looking out and seeing one in the pasture is fulfilling. GOats are my choice at the moment for milk but ya know just looking out there a cow really looks nice. If I were a rich woman I would just keep the cow AND buy goats I guess with my good looks but ya know......... THOSE ONLY GO SO FAR! HAHA!! Or actually I think you have to be good lookin for those to really help.......... works like that somehow.
Thanks all!

Depends on her frame size as much as anything, and how well grown she is. Being bred to a Jersey is probably not a plus if you are selling to a dairy farm because the calf won't be as large.

Around here in Northern NYS she'd probably go for $1500 when she's making up bag.

I bought some holstein heifers that were close to calving from 4 brothers who have been miling cows, and breeding AI for 30 years. I paid 1100 each.

A significant number of bred quality beef heifers were sold at auction last week and they brought $1200+ each.
