For those interested in gasoline generators, find yourself a Kohler generator from an old motorhome. Mine runs at 1,600 rpm and runs a long time on a 20 gallon tank of gas. Remote electric start and all. Runs a full 4,000 watts into 110. Most 220v generators put half their rated watts into the 110 legs.

My generator is also from a 1968 RV & still going strong. It is an Onan, runs 1800rpm, & has never been rebuilt. 120V only, & 2.5KW but that is plenty for all my needs, in an emergency. You cannot beat the benefits of a slow running genset! AND speaking of SLOW, those Listeroids run at 650 rom! Love those heavy old chugging machines!
