That Akron airport is our little secret... it is SOOOO NICE and fast!

I've been fortunate enough to almost always have lived in small towns with populations under 10,000. I did live in Sacramento CA for awhile a long time ago and hated all the concrete, but loved the people I went there to see. I so wish I were still near a couple of those beautiful people.

The worst place I've ever lived is Ludington MI, but I would live there again. HUH?
Best place I've ever lived is Manistee MI, but I will never live there again. HUH?

I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. Couldn't wait to get out. Wouldn't go back but my family is still there. You hear the roar of traffic all hours. It never gets dark there. Can't see the stars. I first noticed this about 2 years ago. Woke up one morning, looked out the window. The sky had the light glow of dawn approching. I looked at my clock, it was 4am. Most people don't even realize how bad light pollution is. One of my greatest fears is that during a family visit there, some disaster happens that I can't get back home.

We now live were the stars are visible. No traffic. Clean air. The nearest anything is 20 minutes away. Dirt roads. Mountains. Clear running streams. No cable. No cellphone reception.

And most people don't understand how we can live this way. I don't get it.
But I'm really glad they feel that way. Let 'em stay in the city.
